1. Recent events
The many events that affected our school board this week have provided all of us with a reason to reflect on what is important within our roles and within our souls. I hope that FHCI families will take time this weekend to talk about the importance of achieving goals the right way, without compromising basic beliefs and principles. Perhaps the one thing that is important to guard above all other ‘possession’ is personal integrity and one’s good name. This is a teachable moment for parents/guardians; a chance to talk about a challenging question in life—do the ends ever justify the means?
2. Upcoming events
Monday, January 14: Valedictorian applications from Grade 12 students are due by the end of the day
Tuesday, January 15: Valedictorian selection vote in home form
Thursday, January 17: Teachers review future courses with students in preparation for 2013-2014 course selection in February
Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18: Grade 9 EQAO math test for Grade 9 students taking mathematics in Semester 1.
3. Hold the date
Wednesday, January 23: School Council Meeting
From the whole FHCI staff, Happy New Year! May the whole FHCI community enjoy a year of good health and great happiness as we at this fine school continue to share our days with your children.
