1. Grade 9 Leadership Day
It was delightful to have the Grade 9s together on Monday at the Grade 9 Leadership Day at the North York Civic Centre. After spending the day with the students, I can assure you the Grade 9 students will make an outstanding contribution to this school over the upcoming four years.
2. Markbook printouts
By now, Markbook printouts have been given to all students. Please insist that your child brings home the Markbook printouts to you so you have an accurate and current record of progress to date. The reports are for parents/guardians and the students are our message carriers.
3. Post-secondary programs information night
If you were not able to attend Wednesday’s excellent information night about programs after high school, you can review the presentation on the Guidance portion of the FHCI website at www.fhci.net

4. Progress Reports Distributed: Wednesday, October 9, 2013
At the end of the day on Wednesday, students will return to Period 1 classes to receive their Sem 1 progress reports. These reports contain a letter grade (E, G, S, U), teacher comment and attendance information. Included with the progress report will be the individual report from the Grade 9 EQAO math test and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, both written last year. The information in the progress report comes in advance of Parent/Guardian-Teacher interviews on Thursday, October 17. You will receive an email next week about how to book your appointments online. We schedule the interviews during the afternoon and evening to accommodate as many work schedules as we can. Your child is welcome to accompany you to the interviews.
