Change of hours for the school food servery:
Please note that the cafeteria staff will be closing the servery from 11:00 to 11:30 each day starting on Monday to allow for more effective preparation for the lunch period. The servery will open again at 11:30 for the lunch period.
Culminating Activity due dates:
As we come to the end of Culminating Activities period, please refer to the Culminating Activities schedule you received in December for submission and presentation dates. Please note that Culminating Activities carry the same significance as final exams and so submission and presentation dates are firm deadlines.
In the coming week:
1. Distribution of Grad photo proofs: Monday January 20:
Lifetouch Photo will be in the foyer from 11:45-12:45 for grads to pick up their proof packages to take home. Lifetouch will return to FHCI on Friday, February 7 from 3:15 to 4:15 to take orders from students for their Grad Photo packages.
2. EQAO Math Exam: Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21
Semester 1 Grade 9 mathematics students will write their EQAO math test during class time on Monday and Tuesday.
3. Civics Exam: Tuesday, January 21
Grade 10, Semester 1, Term 2 students in CHV2O1 will write their end-of-course exams during class time on Tuesday.
4. Tutorial morning: Wednesday, January 22
There will be no scheduled classes on Wednesday morning so that all teachers can be available to provide individual help in advance of January exams.
5. Exams: Wednesday, January 22 (PM) to Wednesday, January 29
Please be sure your child knows when and where each of the January exams will be held.
6. Last day for Semester 2 timetable changes: Wednesday, January 29
All Semester 2 timetable changes must be completed by Wednesday, January 29. Counsellors are available now to assist with timetable change requests. Classes have upper limits for student enrolment and we cannot add students if it means piercing that limit.
7. P.A. Day: Thursday, January 30
There will be no exams and no classes on January 30 as teachers prepare for Semester 2.
8. First Day of Semester 2: Friday, January 31
Please note that there will be a full set of Semester 2 classes on Friday morning. All students must attend. The afternoon period is dedicated to a review of Semester 1 exams. More details will follow.
