 1. Note to parents/guardians who drive their children to school and drop them off along Mayfair Avenue:
We have a small parking lot on the east side of Mayfair, just north of Eglinton. That lot is reserved for staff parking only. Parents who pull into the lot to drop of students create a difficulty for staff waiting to access the lot. The volume of piled snow further restricts mobility for teachers accessing the lot.

If you are dropping off students on Mayfair, please pull up to the stop sign further down the block or at the pathway beyond of the small lot that leads directly into the school. Do not pull into the staff parking lot.

This will speed up everyone’s trip in the morning and address safety concerns the staff have express to me.

I appreciate your help with this.

2. Security of Valuables During Phys. Ed. Classes
Please reinforce with your child, as our teachers do, that they are to use the ‘lock box’ to store their valuables when they are in Phys. Ed. (gym) class. Nothing of value is ever to be left in the change rooms. The lock box is to be used for valuables during Phys Ed classes without exception. If there is ever a difficulty accessing the lock box, the student is to speak to the teacher directly. I recommend leaving irreplaceable items at home.

3. “Young Entrepreneurs, Make Your Pitch!
Please share the attachments with your child regarding this campaign to encourage young people to develop and ‘pitch’ a business idea on video. FHCI is the best advertisement for this opportunity as one of our Grade 9 students was a winner in last year’s competition! The information is included in the attachments. Note that the deadline for online submissions is March 28, 2014.
