 1. Mark the date…

2. Progress Reports Not Picked Up
If you have not received your child’s progress report, sent home with students yesterday, you may pick it up from the office tomorrow or following the Break. The office will be open from 9:30 to 3:00 on Friday.

3. Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews, March 20…Username and Password Needed
Information was emailed out last night regarding booking appointments for Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews on March 20. Booking requires a Username and Password. If your Username and Password didn’t reach you last night via separate email, please let me know and I will send the information to you. You can book appointments until 11:00 AM on March 20.

4. Unpaid Day, Friday, March 7
There are no classes tomorrow as teachers will be on an unpaid day, according to the decision last year by the Ministry of Education. This adds an extra day to March Break which runs Monday to Friday next week. I hope this is a restful and re-energizing week for you and your family as we come closer to saying goodbye to winter.

5. Band Chamber Music Night at 7:00 PM on March 19
You are invited to this special night of band music performed by our FHCI students in our Music Room.

6. Class Schedules for March 20 and 21
We will have an early closing on March 20 to allow for Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews. Here are the period times:
9:00-9:40…Pd 1
9:45-10:20…Pd 2
10:25-11:00…Pd 3
11:05-11:45…Pd 4

We will have a late opening on March 21 following Interviews. The schedule is on Page 44 of the Student Agenda Book.

7. Literacy Test (OSSLT), March 27
I have sent home information about the Literacy Test to parents/guardians of students who will be writing the test. We will meet with those 250 students in an assembly on Friday, March 21 to review the requirements of the test. On March 24, we will have a practice of test-type questions during three classes.

Students will be invited to participate in a mock test after school on Tuesday, March 25. We will start at 3:45 with Booklet 1 (75 minutes) and run the test exactly as it will be run on the 27. We will have a pizza break between sessions and then start Booklet 2 (75 minutes). Every student writing the test is invited to participate and will receive answers and feedback immediately at the end of the mock test.

The actually test will be written across Ontario on March 27 starting at 9:00 AM. There will be no classes that day as the full staff is involved in the test administration followed by the monthly staff meeting.

8. Student Absence Reporting
Please contact the office regarding any absence for your child other than school-planned activities. We record the reason for the absence, as required, and helps in our tracking of student absence. You can email [foresthill.ci@tdsb.on.ca], call 416-393-1860x1, or send your student with a note. Waiting for the note to be processed after an absence can slow down the return to class, so an email or phone call in advance is the best way to report the absence.
