 Send along your encouraging thoughts…

Isabella Baston and Adam Flomen will be competing in Singles Tennis this week at the provincial championship (OFSAA) tournament at York University, having each won the City Championship for singles in the high school division. Forest Hill also sent the doubles pair, Jonah and Sam Wortzman to the City Championships in the Open Division where they achieved an impressive 4th overall for Toronto.

This will be Isabella's third trip to OFSAA. She placed third in the province in her first two tournaments.

Adam and Isabella made fast work of their opponents to win the City Championships in their respective events, and we hope they serve up their best games as they go for Provincial Gold!

Go, Falcons!

This week at FHCI…

1. Athletic Banquet: Wednesday, June 4
In the 2013-2014 school year, we have had over 270 students participate on a school team! Our annual FHCI Athletic Banquet is an event where we recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our student athletes and teams who proudly represented FHCI during interschool competition at the local, regional and provincial levels! This year's Athletic Banquet will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4:30-7:00 PM at the Mandarin Buffet Restaurant, Yonge and Eglinton. The awards ceremonies will commence at 5:15 PM. We will also have raffle door prizes for all who are in attendance!

The sale of tickets for the Athletic Banquet has been extended to Monday, June 2, 2014.  Tickets will be sold in the foyer during lunchtime only. Tickets are $20 each. Please encourage your athlete to purchase a ticket and join fellow FHCI athletes for this special event.

2. Grad Breakfast: Friday, June 6
I recently sent an invitation to the students of the Graduating Class of 2014 and FHCI staff to the 7th Annual FHCI Grad Breakfast to honour our graduating students. Staff and students will gather under the morning sun on Friday, June 6 in the Fountain Courtyard from 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM to celebrate the academic accomplishments and community contributions of the graduates, achieved with the support and encouragement of the FHCI staff. If your child has not yet replied to me with a “Yes” or “No”, please encourage that reply so we can more effectively plan our event. I am hoping every grad will be able to join us.

Looking ahead…
