Mid-semester report cards: Any students who were absent on Thursday afternoon will receive their mid-semester report on Monday, November 16 from their Period 1 teacher. If your child has no Period 1 class, the report will be available from the Main Office. Please be sure your child delivers the report card to you if you have not yet received it.
Note: Building Bridges, one of our two evenings with parents/guardians of students in our ELL program, will be rescheduled from November 18 to a date later in the school year.
This week at Forest Hill Collegiate…
1. School Council Meeting: Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 PM
All parents/guardians are welcome to attend the monthly School Council Meeting in the Staff Room at 7:00 PM.
2. Coffee House: Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 PM
Please join us in the Massey Foyer as we enjoy an evening of delightful musical performance in this informal setting accompanied by coffee and treats.
3. Last day to drop Grade 11/12 courses to avoid ‘full disclosure’: Friday, November 20
Student transcripts must include a mark for all Grade 11 and 12 courses that remain on a student’s timetable more than five days after the mid-semester report is distributed. The ‘full disclosure’ date this semester is Friday, November 20.
4. Change of schedule: Tuesday, November 24
As you may be aware, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, the union that represents high school teachers, began a local withdrawal of selected services starting on November 4, 2015.
As a result of this job action, we will no longer be following the late start schedule currently in place for Tuesday, November 24. Instead, we will revert back to the regular class day schedule on November 24, meaning school will start at 9:00 AM and end at 3:20 PM.
I will continue to provide information as it becomes available. Please check www.tdsb.on.ca/labour for more information and a full list of withdrawn services.
