We are now into Culminating Activities. Please be sure you know when your child’s culminating evaluations are scheduled between now and exams so no deadlines will be missed.
Please also ensure you and your child know when end-of-course exams are scheduled.
If you need another copy of the Culminating Activities schedule for your child’s grade or the Exam schedule, they are available for pick up in the Main Office.
Markbook printouts were distributed this week to students in all classes. Please be sure your child delivers all Markbook printouts to you for your review. If you do not receive all the printouts, please let me know and I will follow up.
Please remember to contact the school office in the morning before your child is to be absent from one or more classes that day. Also, when a student wishes to leave school during the day and will miss class, the student must come to the office to sign out before leaving.
This week at FHCI…
1.   Valedictorian applications deadline: 12:00 Noon, Monday, January 11
Graduating students who wish to be considered for valedictorian at October’s commencement must complete and submit their nomination form to the Main Office by noon on Monday.
2. Valedictorian vote: Tuesday, January 12
Graduating students will vote for valedictorian on Tuesday during their Period 1 class. Graduating students without a Period 1 class may vote in the Main Office until 11:45 AM.
3.   Awards for Graduating Students
Each year at commencement, the school chooses students for a variety of prestigious awards. Many of these awards require an application by the student. The application generally consists of a submission of the student’s involvement in the life of the school and/or community—clubs, teams, organizations, etc., to which the student has made a contribution. Please encourage your child to submit an award application. We give consideration to all students who apply for awards. Students may obtain an application form from the Guidance Office.
4.   Semester 2 timetable change request deadline: 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 2
Students received their Semester 2 timetables this week. All timetable changes for Semester 2 must be completed by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 2. Some classes are at their maximum enrolment figure. We are not able to exceed that maximum but will add student names to our wait lists if necessary.
Looking ahead
